A little too little ram.

How come my lcd (with lcd smartie) is saying I have 248 mb of ram when I have 256 mb of ram. If it had been something like 255 I wouldnt have cared but I'm missing A lot of ram (to me its a lot) I could realy use. At first I thought it was only my lcd screwing up but then I went into my system properties and it says I have only 248 mb there also. So now why is my whole computer only seeing 248 instead of 256.

monitor? Your monitor only tells you what comes out of your computer....

That's what I woulda said, but he said all of the sudden it wasn't there

I never said all of the sudden. Onboard seems like that would do it. And no my lcd told me see look.

I'm not as stupid as some people, I know the difference . And I made a mistake its 246 not 248.

other than onboard video it may be your lcd thing might be reading the RAM total incorrectly
