Hi

i was looking into a bargain on ebay, then i came across this neat looking joystick, but wondered whether it can work with my modern laptop, as i no longer have many of the ports my old pc had :( - so could it?
- an the seller hasnt bothered to say what socket it goes into, or have a photo of its plug !!

i got just usb ports on my laptop + a video d9 port + a network port [RJ45?]

its listed as...
FIGHTER-PLANE JOYSTICK WITH ACCELERATOR LEVER AND MOUSE
an has the link, [if it works], of...

ps...

i also noted that this seller has a pci modem - at a dirt cheap price, an so wondered, is that because such modem cards are so obsolete that their quite worthless nowadays...?

cheers for any pointers here on clarifying about these 2 items :)

You would need something like this to use that joystick on your laptop: USB Game port

Yes, 56K PCI modems are very much obsolete unless you need the FAX part of it.

cheers an thanks for the advice.

incidently your statement has proven true, since no one bought that modem.
in fact, it seems to have been bundled with a pc-desktop case.

which made me wonder...

arent such cases past their popularity nowadays?

isnt the world about slimline pc-cases?

which doesnt that mean this ebay seller is 'flogging a dead horse'?

trouble is, the alternative is for such items to be scraped onto an ever growing rubbish pile.

what their needs to be is a computer recycling company that takes anything.
dont mobile phones have this?
