Hi all...

I have never built a computer before so I need some input. I have picked a barebones "kit" to get me started and already have an optical drive, ect... Now all I need is a Video card, Hard Drive, and Memory. The barebones kit I picked is this...http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2782533&CatId=333. I know the pentium 4 is no top of the line processer but it will sufice for me. I want to keep the build under $450. Is that realistic? I will be doing mild movie editing, internet surfing, word doc.'s, mild gaming, ect...

So...

Video Card-$0-$50. One that is compatible to the mother board; nvidia or ATI; I want some decent graphics.

Hardrive- $0-$60 any brand will do; 80gb+

Memory-$0-$40; Compatible to the mother board; Any brand, Decent amount, something that will work well with the pentium 4.

When I get all of the parts here and build it up, What else will I need to do? I will need to buy an operating system, correct? How do I get the computer running?

Sorry Im on a tight budget...
Any suggestions? Combos? Enlighten Me!:D

id say try and visit sites to figure out how to build one. take apart an old computer and get a feel by looking at it. and i wouldnt buy a barebone system. just start from the ground up. this is what im building. its only 400$ plus tax and shipping.
