A OC noob looking for a finger to point me to the right direction

My current specs are in my signature.

Would anyone know of a good guide to help me learn how to overclock?
any tips during the process?

Hoping there is a well written guide concerning my current cpu

Well, I'm sure that there is an overclocking 101 on this site, however.. do you know in general how to overclock? The basics should be easy to look up. Just remember - the voltage you manually set it to will be multiplied - ie, if you are overclocking and set the voltage to 1.5v, then chances are it will actually multiply to 1.62v. If you can, and if your bios has it, use any automatic overclock. Make sure to progressively overclock, gradually, and always check the results with CPU-Z and a temperature monitor. Overclocking mistakes can fry your CPU, so be careful to watch the temps. Each processor has a different temp limit.
 
Are you using stock cooler? How did you apply the TIM(seems like a dumb question but i had used good tim [cured/4months] but had it applied wrong and my cpu would hit 34'C idle and 60'C load at stock clocks, then i got some cheap stuff which had worse thermal conductivity and was very bad but i had made it utterly flat with a id card and my temps dropped by 10'C after overclock)?
 
Sorry, to clarify, I meant... if your BIOS has an auto option, then go with that.. I would not suggest anything Windows-run. I will agree, however, that it is best in the end to do a manual OC.

My cooler is a cpu water cooler I purchused on newegg awhile back.

I agree with lincsman, if its first time id still go for the auto OC (even if its water cooling), its actually quite stable and gives off some good results.
