A Question about coolers

Does it matter if the cooler is small? like one of those intel LGA775 half-size coolers. will it affect temps positively or negatively?

Smaller coolers have lower surface area to dissipate the heat, so I would assume larger is better. However there are many other factors like material and usage of copper heatpipes.

Zalman makes very good CPU coolers. Copper is a great thermal conductor and the heatpipes help to distribute the heat across the heatsink. Is it for the rig in your sig though? If you can get it that cheap it's probably worth it, but it's a little overkill.

thats a good temp.... I really hope no one else bids on that... the 9600gt im bidding on is up to $20.50

Where i live, the temps outside during this time of year are around 4-8 degrees celcius.... but we have heaters on 24/7 in winter so the computer ends up warmer in winter...lol
