A sachet of Silica Gel

can't see it doing any harm, if anything it would have a positive result, but if you feel your computer is getting moisture in it then i would suggest relocation asap!!

I can't see it providing any benefit. Provided it was just sitting in the case, it wouldn't cause any harm either (i.e. assuming it can't get stuck in a fan, etc...)

I have one in my case. I think it came with one of my monitors, and I like to use stuff rather than just throw it away.

Why not?

They last for a long time.
We get tons of them in at work, we just throw em out cause the packets break open and the little balls go everywhere.

But since theres a wind current in your pc I can't see them being that effective.

no they are awsome. when it gets humid here in california, i put them under my hdd's because i have bad airflow there, so i would guess thats where the moisture would hang out.

anyways, if they are free, yea put them in

I don't believe it would be of any benefit at all. Too much air circulating. Those are meant to be placed in closed containers to get rid of moisture in only the air that's in the closed box, etc. Your use is not for its intended purpose. It would have to remove moisture in the whole room/house/office to be effective, but if it makes you feel better, go ahead. It won't hurt anything.
