I know that there are plenty of guides online about how to build a computer built many of them are out of date or over simplified or overly advanced or simply don't go into enough detail about specifics.

Has anyone considered making a guide on here with up to date information and advice which could be updated by an experience member of the forum every 6-12 months?

Just a thought.
 
I would be more then willing, but its quite a large undertaking. I personally think the Newegg videos on YT are perfect.
 
We could really do with a tech guide on this subject. I would be willing to chip in and wrote some, or all of it, it's just a matter of finding the time to do so.
 
The newegg videos are great, but for me they sped through some of the finer points, e.g, which plug is which (for people like me who have no clue).
