A ton of C++ Redistributables...can I delete some?

In my Programs List I have several of these redistributables listed. I know they are necessary for some things, like games, but I'm wondering if the ones I have listed are redundant, or perhaps older versions that never got removed when a new version was installed. Plus, some say 2005 and some say 2008.

Attached is an image of what I have. Can I safely remove any of them?

Thanks.

Edit: There's also an entry called "Visual C++ 8.0 Runtime Setup Packages"....necessary?

no, you can not remove them. Some are updates, and some are the main packages, but without them the programs that are built on it will not work. It would be like shooting the interpreter and then getting mad because you dont speak german.

Ok, thanks! Also, I have a file called msdia80.dll in my C:\ drive. I've read it has something to do with an error installing one of these redistributables. Is there anyway to move or delete this file?

.dll s are program files. Chances are that it is necessary. I wouldnt touch it till you are 100% sure that its an error decoder.

Wolfeking is right.Do not delete any of these C++ redistributables because they are .NET framework components and some of them might be it's updates and they are neccessary to run some programs and games.

Of course you can delete some of them,but only if you are 5000% sure that you REALLY do not need the specific C++ redistributables and if you are also 5000% sure that NONE of your other programs and games do not need them at all.

All of them together add up to only a few MB so why take the chance of rendering some program inoperable by deleting them? Even if you are low on disk space, those few MB won't make any difference so leave them alone.
