A Windows Setting

If you get away from your keyboard for longer then... lets say 5 minutes for arguement sake. It goes to the screen where you have to pick what user to login too. How do you eliminate that all together and just have it go back to where you were last?

That's how my computer was originally but my friend changed a couple settings not realizing wtf he was doing and now I can't seem to find how to get it back to how it was!! ANyone?

With XP you can make a few quick changes in the system registry and never have to worry about log in prompting again. Windows will simply load directly to the desktop unless you use the logoff off where you then click on the user acount to get back to the desktop. One simplified way is to follow the instructions seen at https://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/tips/advanced/autologon.mspx

Winguides.com and other sites provide instruction for manually creating and editing values in the system registry itself to accomplish the same task. http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/13/
