Outside my mainboard box (P5KPL-AM SE) which you all now that it has a G31 chipset, I can see the note: "Quad core ready". Does it mean that I can use a quad core CPU without any problem? Or what can I do to use this kind of CPU excluding getting a new mainboard? Thanks all.

You should be able to use all LGA775 quadcores. that means the Q6xxx, Q8xxx and Q9xxx quadcores.

Yeah if its quad core ready then yes,However you might want to check that the bios you have installed on the mobo supports the new quad.....so i recommend updating to the latest Bios version.

I had a Msi p35 neo-f motherboard that stated it was quad core ready....i checked on the msi website and the bios version that was installed was only compatable up to Q6700 and not Q9000 series so it could be the same for yours.

Just best having the updated latest version :)
