able to browse the network yet I can not access the internet

I recently replaced a box in a 6 box domain with a new XP pro machine. I am able to browse the network yet I can not access the internet from the new machine. Could this be a nic card id problem? The 6 systems on the network are set to pull an IP automatically from the server. I do have a
Watch guard firebox firewall to get past and I think this may be the problem. Any ideas.

Thanks

The NIC card could be the problem... have you tried using the Windows Networking Wizard?

can I change the nic cards physical address

Is it possible to change the nic cards physical address to what the old card was?, and if so how would I do it.

Thanks

Once you have determined the MAC of the old NIC, go through these steps to change the MAC of the new NIC (on XP):

Right Click My Network Places -> Properties
Right Click the network card with the MAC you want to change -> Properties
Configure
Advanced Tab
In the Property box, select Network Address
In the Value box, type the desired MAC address with no separators

Before you do this, you may want to make sure there is no configuration on the server that limits or allows certain MAC addresses on the internet. This may also be a configuration with the routers and/or modem (if you have cable or DSL). Hope this helps.
