My brother-inlaw is wondering if i can run Home basic on his:
Windows XP Pro Sp2
AMD Athlon 1.20GHz
20Gb Hard Drive
256mb ram memory
16mb graphics card
Will it maybe install but run on the windows classic theme instead?
It will not work, the hardware is to old.
Anyway, Vista is crap use Linux (or just stick to XP)
care to provide any evidence to support that, or is it just your opinion
i will suport f.i.t.h also, , not that the hardware is old but according to my expericence with vista mine is :
AMD Athlon 1.20GHz - Fair but not good
20Gb Hard Drive - bah fail get above 80gb (considering you will install more programs later)
256mb ram memory - FAIL
16mb graphics card - i don't need to speak on this one, not even classic theme will run
i don't agree that vista requires 800mhz, as 800mhz is crap for vista to run on , thats like P3.
but anyways thats my view.My current machine with a fresh vista ultimate installation runs like crap and here is the specs :
Intel Celeron 2.8ghz - FAIL
Geforce 6200TB 256MB - PASS
120GB SATA HD - PASS
1GB DDR2 - PASS ,but still not enough
the above specs took like 2 minutes at boot screen and another 50 seconds at startup.
That was fresh nothing installed
