about adobe photoshop cs2

hi, i have a few questions here.

i just bought a new laptop and a few sofwares were already installed in the system. however, the adobe photoshop cs2 software has expired. is it supposed to be so since mine is a brand new laptop? should all the softwares not work properly?

also, it prompts me to activate the serial number online (for adobe photoshop cs2) but the acticvation failed. is there any other way i can do the activation?

Well, from buying prebuilt systems.. That is what they throw in to get you to buy it.

CS2 most likely was a trial and they probably want you to shell in some more $$$$ to get it working again. Register and buy it.

Well it should not have been expired when you got it. You should have at least had a functional trial to test. Other than that, I would expect all software to work properly.

It should work and you should be able to use the trial. How long have you had the laptop? Was it brand new out of the box, or was it a display item? If so, it might be that someone had started the trial and by the time you bought the computer, it was expired. In that case, you should go back to where you bought it and they should reformat the entire drive so it is as good as "out-of-the-box" new. Of course, back up all your files to disk before doing that.
