Access denied

I'm trying to us MS Access 97 with Windows XP home edition and each time I get a error message of not enough memory and to close unacessary programs.
Yet I'm able to use MS Word and Excel without any problems.

I have 1G of RAM using a AMD 64 X2 3800+ processor

You say you have 1GB of RAM, is Windows detecting the complete 1GB? That message points to a RAM problem of some sort. Perhaps post a screenshot of the task manager (ctrl+alt+del)?

Set your virtual memory to system managed size and see if that helps.

I doubt that virtual memory should come ito it at all if his whole 1GB is functioning and he's just running MS Access 97...
