What does this message mean exactly?
The workbook you are trying to open contains links to other workbooks, ie formulae that "pull" values from (an)other workbook(s) when the file is opened.
The source workbooks may have been changed since you last opened your file and Excel is asking if you would like to update these links, or use the last known values.
The only people who will be able to read the file will be those with access to your machine / network who know the password. Not just anyone with access to the internet.
To see details of which files your workbook is linking to, go to Edit > Links.
