"accidently" broken Xbox

I can tell my xbox is going to croak. I dropped it from 4 feet a few months ago, and since then it has been making strange noises, randomly stopped recognizing controllers, and refusing to turn on until un and replugged. However, my parents refuse to notice this. :(

Is there a way I could sabotauge my xbox and make it look like it died? Preferrably without having to open it, I don't want to have to buy a torque screwdriver.

Once it breaks, I get a 360.

It's probably an issue with the harddrive in it. I don't know what file system it runs, but it probably wouldnt be TOO hard to upgrade the drive. I hear people doing it all the time. Or, you might even be able to find a good one off ebay from a broken Xbox...

I dunno. I don't think it would be worth it, plus there have been video problems. Everything is...yellowish. I might do that for fun when I get the 360 though.

Well the best way to sabatoge it would be to either:

1. Cover the ventilation up with tape. Then leave it on all day.

2. Shove a screwdriver in the disk drive and totally scratch it up.

3. Replacing the drive is quite easy. There are plenty of tutorials on it and im sure its pretty cheap now.

I like the first one. Thanks!

Shit if you're going to destory it(sorry, I misread the first part) just open it and disconnect the power connection. Once you get your new 360, send me the old Xbox :P

Probably a good idea.

I was planning on saying the exact same thing, so he could break it then re sell it after he gets his 360. But he said he would prefer not to open it. So I left it out.

Its worth the risk to open it, then you can sell it and by some games for the 360.
