I have recently decided to downgrade my computer from Vista to XP but some of the drivers have given me some problems. For example when I would install my Realtek High Defention Sound Driver I find at times the sound will have this slight skip and sometimes my computer will have these random 5 second slow downs (where everything almost stops for 5 seconds). I have been using the drivers from the acer.ca site and although everything (except CIR ENE Driver due to incompability with XP) worked I would like to stop these annoying slow downs. I was also curious as to when you install drivers for name brand systems (ACER and HP for example) is it better to use website drivers (which are accurate but sometimes out dated) or go to the manuafacturer of the device site (For example Intel video card go to intel site for driver). When I do download a driver package if it gives me a choice should I download the EXE file (only one file which extracts setup files else where) or the ZIP file (a bunch of files that Intel recommends for expernced users

I currently have 3 methods of obtaining drivers if any one could give me advice to which is the best please let me know

1. Using all drivers off www.acer.ca
2. Using driver magician 3.42 to update drivers (used on older computer works alright)
or
3. Use Everest and Go to each and every device websites and get drivers. For example Everest tells me I have the Broadcom Ethernet (or LAN) Adapter and tells me to go to the broadcom website where I found an upto date driver for my model of the Broadcom Adapter

Sorry for all the information I hope anyone can help

Recommend going to each parts manufactures websites, had to do that when I upgraded my laptop to Vista. And when I put Windows 7 on it.
