Acer Aspire as3680 2682 , My new computer problem

My friend bought this cmputer yesterday at walmart


long story short

every single time that you turn off and turn back on the computer, a acer launch program comes up and installs the drivers every single time

this isnt normal is it ?

I am hoping that someone out there with the same computer. so they can help with this


once the drivers stall , the acer launch says , thank you for using acer software, yada yada yada,

and it wont let you minimize or close the program, but you have to go to task manager to do this , otherwise the acer launch stays in the middle of the screen and you cant do anything


if this isnt suppossed to be happening , we got a dud and I want to take it back and swap it out

yes, we let it go through the screens, one said that it was installing drivers, one said it was installing norton ,

then it said thanks for usiing our software, and we left it on that page for 3 hours and it still didnt do anyting or give us an option to close

surely it wouldnt take over 3 hours
 
Best thing to do is take it back, especially if it's new. Second to that if there are any options/is any time before it runs this launch thingy runs try safe-mode and stop it running in startup options.

k we took it back and exchanged it and the new one workds and didnt even boot up using that launch thing i mentioned, i guess it was a dud
 
you have got to be careful with what you buy from wallyworld...i would definitely not recommend buying a computer there. they actually make special computers with cheaper parts to sell at walmart/sams club. i kid you not. if you dont believe me, check the walmart ad in the sunday paper. HP computer model numbers end in WM (for walmart) or SC (for sams club). i dont know about the other brands.
a friend told me about that a year or 2 ago, so things may have changed. after that, i lost all confidence in walmart.
