Acer Aspire one 1-131 touchpad driver issues

There seems to be a lot of this going around, especially with Windows 10, but with all of the common advice, none of the solutions has fixed mine. Naturally I have installed the standard touchpad driver from the Acer website. I have installed the chipset drivers. I have installed the Serial IO Driver. I have found a driver called L2C which I installed but didn't work. I have tried all of the various combinations of Fn keys ie. Fn+F7 to enable the touchpad. I'm currently using a USB mouse to get around. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Jim

P.S.I have also checked the hardware side by cleaning and re-seating the touchpad ribbon cable.
