Acer e1-571 boot issues.

I was doing a downgrade from windows 8 (OEM) to Windows 7, managed to get it up and running. Downloaded and installed all required updates, and restarted.

I then used a Windows loader to generate the key, after restarting the computer, it wouldn't boot to Windows. The Acer screen is shown then screen goes blank with a cursor in the top left corner of the screen, then powers it's self off before repeating the process indefinitely.

By pressing esc a few times during the Acer screen, I can get in to a grub loader, which I thought was weird. I tried every options from the image in the link below, only the "Windows without loader" allows me to boot into Windows.

I have tried to boot from USB to reinstall Windows, but it does the exact same process as before. You would expect to see an error message of sorts, explaining how their is nothing on the media.

BIOS is set to 'legacy boot', boot order adjusted accordingly.

Since I can access Windows, is their anyway I can get this issue resolved?

Thanks in advance for your time, it is much appreciated!:good:

There should also be an option to disable secure boot, that has to be done as well.

Big questions here though.

1. What did you use originally to install windows 7?
2. What do you mean when you say you used a windows loader to generate a key?
3. Why are you using grub to install windows 7?

If you didn't purchase windows 7 legally then that is one of your problems. You should have received a key with the copy of windows 7.

Hi John, thanks for your responce.

1, I used a torrent I have used in many occasions in the past. (Installed from USB (legacy mode))
2. I'm afraid I may have confused a loader with a keygen, not sure on the difference.
3. I didn't intentionally install the grub loader, it came as a surprise, my best bet is that the loader managed to install it.

I don't understand why a key would have caused this issue. I had Windows up and running, had installed all the latest Windows updates and restarted a few times without this issue, only after I restarted post loader did the issue arise.

With regard to secure boot, it is only an option for UEFI boot, when you change to legacy it isn't a choice anymore.

Mate, unfortunately we cannot help you any further as the rules dictate that we cannot assit in piracy which, unless i a mistaken, you're attempting. However you may want to try to start in safe mode and use EasyBCD to remove all boot entries, and enable a new one for Windows 7, restart.

Yeah, sounds like you are trying to install a pirated OS since you say you are using a keygen. Discussion of this is not allowed on our forum. We will no longer help you.
