hello, I have been looking at the Acer F-20" wide screen and was wondering if any has it/has seen it and could tell me how it was. I will be using it with a new build i will be making in less than a month and the rig will primarily be used for gaming and my laptop will become my work/school computer. I know the response time is 8ms, but will i see massive ghosting? is it worth it to find a 2ms lcd?

I also noticed that it has composite inputs in one of the pictures on Acer's website, does that mean i could double the screen as a screen for a ps2?

i am gaming since 2 years on a 8ms, if i had to buy something now, i'd go with 5ms or 2 ms, but for now, it does the job.

It's a 20" LCD for $400. You can get a high end 22" for $350 and a good 22" for less than $300. Overpriced and not worth it.

But if you're seriously gaming don't go with anything over 5ms.

You guys must have crazy good eyes. I can't even see the ghosting in an 8ms screen. Hell, I can barely see the ghosting in my 12ms screen:P

its the same thing with FPS, people swear anything below 300 and they get dizzy and it lags...

lol, whatever..

it isnt 400 bucks...?

i have no idea where you see 400 bucks...

I was more concerend with the 8ms response time and if it had component inputs on the side or not, I know how much it costs and yes i know if i just want an lcd i can get a ceaper bigger one, but barley cheaper. Ill be in a dorm so space is key and not having to have to screen to play my computer and my ps2 is what i need

Exactly! I have shit old LCD, 12ms response time. I play wonderfully on it, no ghosting whatsoever.

300? lol, maybe you should remind them that no monitor can render FPS above it's refresh rate...:D

see the component inputs. I dont see those on the pictures on Tiger direct...

Sorry I was referring to the price I saw in Acer's usual ad in PC World. If it has the composite inputs you need then it looks good. I don't think you have any other option unless you get an RCA to VGA adapter.

yeah i didnt want any kind of adapter. Well ive seem to have changed my mind once again anyways, I have found a 27" LCD HDTV with a 8ms response time and built in atsc/ntsc tuners for 280 bucks. Now i dont have to buy a TV tuner for my new pc
