my acer laptop has got two partitions (3 including system recovery...) both of 25.7gb. will this be a big problem? can i make it so that all my memory goes to the C: and i dont have a D:?

ive heard that to do this i will have to buy software :( or re-install windows, but i havnt got the os disc.

are there any free ways to get all my memory onto the C:?

thanks

thanks anyway, i just decided to go for partition magic 8.0 that i found on ebay for £7.49 woooooo! :)

so i shud b able to use this to sort my problem out.

also why is having the hdd as FAT32 bad? shud i change it to NTFS with partition magic?

thanks

p.s. ask me if u want the ebay link

You can't merge partitions that are formatted differently. Backup anything you need before you merge/convert them.

If I remember correctly, on Acer laptops the main hard drive is split into three area. Two are the main partitions, which store data and the OS, and I believe are both FAT32. The third partition is for the restore CD, however i'm not sure of that format, I believe its FAT32 as well though.

I think your problem is pretty much solved, but i figured i'd take the time to mention that even though this is a really annoying feature in the Acer notebooks, I think Acer's are great! Well priced, and the customer service is great. well im done...

ok thanks all!

so when i get this partition magic software i will be set, then at christmas i will be able to use my laptop to the full capacity (as its a christmas present)

thanks for all the help
