i have some acne pads laying around the house so iwas thinking,is it ok if i used Acne pads to rub off thermal compound from CPUS/GPUS , its like the same as using alcohol pads :P

sounds like a good idea. i dont think it would hurt anything, but im not sure if it would be as good as regular alcohol. those pads have different chemicals for fighting zits and stuff, so it might leave some residue. like i said, i doubt it would hurt anything. great idea!

idk they (probably) have all kinds of other crap in them too....also some of them are alcohol free.

hahahah ooo i forgot about this post, but ya i used them , and they work great, takes it all off ! i recommend :D

I've been doing that for a while now. It actually works quite well, though it does seem to leave a bit of a film on them. You may consider washing it off again with a wet paper towel or something once you got the compound off.

i wouldnt. they would leave residue.

the only reason isopropyl(sp?) alchohol is used because its completely non residual. the pads would leave specs of lint even if you cant see. sounds handy tho...

**as long as u finish off with 99.9% isopropyl alchohol and coffee filters. works good :)

They are fraganced, which contain oil, which is baaad for CPU's. Fills in the microscopic holes. Plus they contain vitamins sometimes, which would also involve oil. So I say no. Just us some isopropyl
