If i have 2 XP Pro installed on the computer and I want to get rid of the one on C: and use the one on D: how should I do that?
If I just change active partition from C: to D: will it work (with win98 boot disk and fdisk)?
If not does anyone know how to do this?

If you remove the current C partition you will also need a partitioning tool to move the D to the beginning of the drive. You can even increase the D to cover all drive space available. But you also need to remove D reference in the boot.ini file afterwards if two installations were seen for dual booting the two copies of Windows.

Having removed and created enough NTFS partitions for dual OSing here the best tool is free of charge as long as you have a cd writer. The free Linux tool known as GParted the Gnome Partition Editor is your best choice rather then fussing around with dos. You do have to get used to booting upto the main interface that only somewhat appears to be older desktop until you get used to it.

The download page for the various versions is found at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=115843&package_id=173828

The screen shots as well as simplified instructions are seen at http://gparted.sourceforge.net/screenshots.php The 3rd version is the latest "platform independent" version to be released. That would be 0.3.3.0 for reference. The free version of BurnOn works well with iso images and is found at http://www.burnworld.com/burnoncddvd/ It's effective tool and time saver when used over fdisk. If you need help give a yell. After the first few tries it just seems to become second nature and works with several OSs too.
