Ad-Aware shuts down pc

I've been using Ad-Aware for quite some time with no problems. Recently about 30 seconds into the scan, I hear a click and then my pc re-starts. I checked the Ad-Aware website and there were a few posts about others having the same problem but no real solutions to help. I also run Spybot Search & Destroy and Norton AV. S&D does find things randomly and it removes them and Norton runs well and finds no problems. Has anyone else had this problem?

No I never had that problem, have you tried re-installing Ad-Aware?

If this is the problem you are having download ccleaner and use it its a similar program and it will also check your registry...

my ad-aware would go to the opening pic and then turn off. no matter what i did, it wouldnt work ever again. I had to stop using it cuase i wasnt able to access the program lol..

I ghuess i have to reformat my comp. In your case, if you havnt tried reinstalling it, then try if that dont weork then dont bother lol..

Yuep, my dad has the same problem. Maybe try and boot into safe mode and scan then?

I haven't re-installed yet, but I did try in safe mode and it did the same thing. I do use Eusing registry cleaner and spybot now, so I guess I don't really need the ad-aware but maybe I'll try to re-install and see how it goes.

I have ran into such issue many times. You may have some type virus or spyware that causing it. Try using stinger first: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
