whenever i run adaware, some error comes up and it says ur comp is shutting doiwn in 59 seconds. I had this probelm about a year ago, then it went away, i thought it was a virus, is it possible that adaware is finding this virus in my system and then when it tries to delete it, the virus runs?? haha i really dont know, anyways, if anyone knows whats going on, help would gladly be accpeted!

Yes that is deffinately a possibility. If you have an antivirus program, run a scan with that. If you don't have one I strongly recommend getting one and not rely on adaware alone. Also make sure you have the latest updates for adaware.

I have that problem usually becuase you have the W32.Sasser.Worm or the lsass.exe exploit on your system. Some spyware do that as well.
In the future do not use adaware. Use Spybot Search + Destroy.

and why do you say that? It's one of the best free spyware removal tools out there. It usually finds objects SS&D doesn't and vise-versa. They are both great considering they are free :)

I Agree With Charlie....
I Have 5.. Yes 5 Spyware Programs And They All Find Different Things.
They Also Run Side By Side With No Conflicts.

i use spy bot, have a firewall, and use avast, lol but my comp is so long gone its not funny, im too busy to reinstall windows or anything of that sort, so im just trying to clean up stuff. I cant even use explorer now, so i use firefox... thanks for the help1 lol hopefully ill be getting a comp this summer when i have the time to put it together

Good choice. Stick with it.

im too busy to reinstall windows or anything of that sort

I'm not that experienced in doing that, but I've found I can reformat/reinstall windows and upload all drivers in under 2 hours.

hopefully ill be getting a comp this summer

Don't give up on it yet :) Try booting your computer in safe mode, then run your antivirus scans. You also have to make sure the virus is not running to delete it. Usually you can do this via add/remove programs or ctrl + alt + delete.

The reason I suggest for the thread starter not to use Adaware is because sometimes it finds the lsass.exe exploit as spyware. Tries to delete it and then the error message will appear and shut down just like he said. Try to use another anti-spyware or system machenic (cant spell it) from www.iolo.com the anti-spyware program will find ALL spyware. I know this because I used 3 different anti-spyware/adware programs and they all found different things but SM's anti-spyware/adware found all of them. I suggest it, it also has some interesting tools to help your computer speed up

Well I'm 99.9% sure that it will or are you asking me about the website link?????? Either way a virus scan might also help.

Well I'm 99.9% sure that it will or are you asking me about the website link

I'm talking about the program. I browsed that website briefly, but I think they had a free version and a non-free version. I have yet to see a free program that stops 100% of spyware (or your 99.9%). :)

Well I have the free version and it seems to working at the rate I have stated :D but of course everyone can be wrong. I just need to have it proved ;)
