I already have 2 hardrives in my computer which are both IDE(One master and another a slave). Is it possible to add myother hardrive through IDE???? I have an ASUS A8V Deluxe. Also you can tell the difference between an IDE and SATA slot on the back of a hardrive rite? I ask this because i looked at what seems to be my hardrive off newegg and it says its supporsts SATA but i see not spot....

You can have up to 4 IDE devices(CD ROMs and such are also included) unless you have RAID. Basically, if you have the connections left in your computer, you could have the drives.

SATA uses a very small connection that slides on the drive. IDE uses a 40pin connection that takes up most of the back of the drive.

you could also purchase a PCI hard drive controller in either IDE or SATA format, your choice, that would be another option if all your IDE openings are full and you dont have SATA...

these are what SATA connections look like, ignore the white connector
