Added RAM..Help Please

i kno this seems really weird but, i just added a stic of 512mb and now my comps incredibly slow after i restarted, sometimes not even able to get past the login screen on win xp, id click my icon name and it would just freeze...im worried this culd be a virus
 
what are the rest of your computer specs?

have you taken out the new stick and see if it still works? b/c maby its not a virus but the new ram.
