Adding A 2nd Hard Drive

I have an 80GB hard drive currently on my computer. I bought a 250GB Western Digital hard drive from ebay, just the hard drive, no cables, CDs, manuals or anything.

First off, sorry for sounding like an idiot, but could someone tell me how to find out if the connectors on my motherboard are SATA150 or 300. The new hard drive is an SATA300. If the connectors are 150, can I use the hard drive? and if I can, which cables should I use, SATA150 or 300?

O, my bad, I thought only 300 connectors could be used with both types of hard drives. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Can I add to the question?

Note: Ill refer SATA150 as SATA I and SATA300 as SATA II

I have a 160GB SATA HDD that I bought 2 years ago (when SATA II didnt exist). Now, if i plug that into a motherboard witch supports SATA II, will SATA II be enabled?
