adding a slave drive

Hey I am trying to add another harddrive its IDE but i dont know how to get it to read it when it boots up. It just says None for the slave.......

its mad old but its for some extra space Its a IBM DESKSTAR model:
DPTA-371360

Help seting Jumpers ON HardDrive

I Have a IBM hard drive i want to use as a slave, just for storge, Its a IBM Deststar DPTA-371360, I need to know how to put the jumpers so it will work

In general, the jumper itself will be on the back of the drive, near the IDE port and power connector. Printed on the top of the drive will be position the jumper needs to be in for each setting (master, slave, cable select).

also my mouse keeps frezzing on windows xp pro. sp2 but if i put my sp2 upgrade disk in it works after it is finished upgrading for a little while but then does it again, anyone know why

Acording to this http://www.hitachigst.com/tech/techlib.nsf/techdocs/85256AB8006A31E587256A7A00698D7C/$file/dpta_ig.PDF you should set the jumpers to A-B and C-D for slave.

There's only 4 jumper positions. Try each until it works

If the drive doesnt show up in BIOS it prolly wont be a virus.
