I'm thinking about adding a few components to my laptop to where I can "use it externally". Pretty much, what I would like to be able to do is to open it up, press the power button, close it, and go. Here are the products I'm looking at:

Cooling:

I already have a wireless mouse.
I know it looks kind of cheap, but the parts I chose all seem to get good or decent reviews. Would this allow me to do what I specified? I can set my laptop to where when I close it, all that happens is the screen turns off, so that's what my plans were.
As for another question, I know that laptops often have heat issues, so that's why I chose to add a cooling pad. My particular model of laptop has two small vents about 1/2" wide and 2" long on each side of the keyboard. With the laptop being closed during use, would this cause any overheating problems? I know that when the cooling fan turns on, I can feel the air being drawn into the left vent (it also draws air from under, and from the side), but the right really doesn't seem like it serves that much purpose, so would I be okay with keeping the cooling pad under it?
One more thing, I'm planning on playing CSS on this setup, would the monitor do alright? With using a larger external monitor, would this put more stress on the GPU, and would I need to change the in-game resolution every time I choose to play on the laptop alone?
Sorry for all of the questions but this is completely new to me.
Thanks!
