Adding more Ram

I have two parallel 1gig corsair ram i have two more slots and my mother board can handle 8 gig.

Can i add 2 2gig sticks of another company in the other two parallel slots? for a total of 6 gig
 
Im pretty sure that you cant. And unless you have a 64 bit operating system, your system will only recognize 3.5 gigs of RAM.

im ordering ram for my computer in my motherboard manual is says that it can support up to 16 gig (i only want four) but it says that you may install a maximum of 2 gb dimms on each slot, but only ddr2-533 2 gb density modules are available for this configeration. does this mean i cant put in OCZ SLI-Ready Dual Channel 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2x2048MB)?
