Adding "My Videos" folder to the start menu

How can I add the "My Videos" folder to the start menu so it is there next to My docs and my pics and my music? I assume I need to change something in the registry and would probably need the CLSID number for the my videos folder.

Is that even possible? Any thoughts?

P.S. I don't want to just make my documents cascade. I actually would want the link to my videos directly on the start menu.

Well, I just found stuff on google, so I'll just respond to my own post in case anyone else here is interested.

There are 2 ways of doing this:

1. Place a shortcut to My Videos on the right panel of the start menu but at the bottom of the list.

To do this, paste the following into notepad, then save it as a .reg file. Then open that file (or right-click Open with... Regedit) and confirm to merge the info into the registry.

Copy and paste this:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}]
@="
My Videos"
"InfoTip"="
whatever you like"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\DefaultIcon]
@="
Path\\to your\\icon\\using backslashes"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f6-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}\Instance\InitPropertyBag]
"method"="ShellExecute"
"Command"="
My Videos"
"Param1"="
C:\\Documents and Settings\\user\\My Documents\\My Videos"

You can change the red parts to match your situation. Note that you will need a path to the icon you want to use or else there won't be an icon. Also, notice that the backslashes are doubled. I don't know if it matters. I did them doubled and it worked fine.

2. This next method is for those who want that folder link up there next to My Pics and My Music. It is a bit more involved and will basically replace the "Favorites" link in the Start menu to become your "My Videos" link. This way, the item will be placed up there next to My Music rather than at the very bottom like in method 1.
You can read more about it here (scroll down to step 5, and do what he says, except you would do it for My Videos rather than for Programs like he did):

I'm fine with method 1 - just a quick direct link even if it is at the bottom. Or who knows, maybe I'll try method 2 some day. :)

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been wanting to do this for awhile

*edit* what operating system are you running?
