Adding Ram to increase speed?

Hello everyone, my question is if I were to add more RAM to my computer, would it speed it up? Here is what I have:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 515
Operates at 2.93 GHz; 1 MB L2 Cache and 533 MHz FSB

512 MB DDR (400 Mhz), dual channel expandable to 4 GB

160 GB (7200 RPM, Serial ATA, 8 MB Cache)

Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have 90 gigs of space left on the harddrive.

So what do you guys think?

As a Rule- adding more compatable RAM will INDEED speed up your system and is one of the quickest , cheapest methods of upgrading your system.

With only 512mb, yes adding some will speed it up. If your running XP its probably accessing your page file/virtual memory like a mad man.
