Adding some more ram...

So I'm thinking of adding 4GB of new ram to my comp. Will I have any problems with this setup or will I have to do some adjusting after I install them?

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Intel Celeron E3300 @2.5GHz
G.Skill 2.0GB (1.0GBx2) Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 400MHz 5-5-5-15 (current ram)
ASUS P5K SE/EPU (LGA775)
512 GeForce 8800 GT (EVGA)

While adding this?
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit

With a 32 Bit OS, you can't have more that 3.something gigs of RAM, so it won't all be used.

It should be fine. Just to make sure I would set the timings and speed manually in the bios.

oops forgot to look at the 32/64 bit os. Good catch bkribbs

Well I do have Windows 7 64-bit. I uninstalled it b/c it was causing me problems when I had a slower CPU.

Will that pretty much solve the problem?

Also, forgot to ask this in the beginning, but will this make that much of an increase of speed for games and basic processes?

I would see about upgrading the CPU if you could. But that would help somewhat.

EDIT- Is that a desktop? You have a LGA 775 socket, so it should support these CPU's? Someone confirm/deny.

Yes, it is a desktop.

According to this they would, but I'm not really looking to spend that much right now.

I think I'm actually gonna go with 2GB more RAM to avoid having to switch to 64-bit. It's too much of a pain to upgrade to 64-Bit and have to worry about incompatibility and such.

Thinking about buying these, which may be the same pair I already have in there. Can't check right now, but I'll check later.

Would these cause any problems with my current setup?

You could pay the extra 35 dollars so that you have the RAM for in case you ever install 64 bit. And it would still get you another 1.2ish gigs until you do upgrade. But, the RAM typically won't cause problems as long as you buy the right set. Although, since you have four slots, you could have 4 x 1 GB sticks in. That is what I would do.

That good.

But, would it improve my speed that much?

Well, 4Gbs is a bunch more than two. The most I have is 2 in any of my computers, but they all still have XP. I would imagine you would notice a difference at least for high usage tasks.
