adjusting paging size?

i currently have a pc which spec is 2.4ghz p4, 384 ram, 100 gb. i want to change the paging size from the system managed size to my own, is there a formula or rules in which u calculate the current ram and then adjust this accordingly????

No there is no certain formula to adjust the paging file according to your RAM size. Actually the page file size don't affect the PC performance in a linear way, which means that as you increase the page file size, don't expect the performance to be increased by the same rate of increase. Your page file size comes to what is called saturation in which any more space added is just a waste and gives nothing more to performance.

The typical page file size is around 500 MB, but it's ok to up this to around 1 GB or so, more than that, I don't think you are going to get a sound effect in your performance.

oh right thanks for the advice, i currently have 384 mb ram is there anything i can do to increase performance in my pc without adding new ram???

How much is the size of your page file currently ??? You might need to increase it a little bit to get a little more performance.

jive.....what operating system are you running? What speeds of RAM does your motherboard support? If your ultimate goal is to increase the performance of your computer, I would recommend purchasing a DIMM of 512mb of pc2700 or 3200. The cost is minimal and the benefit is maximized. Another note, pagefile serves its purpose, please do not get me wrong, but pagefile is slower than RAM so if you rely too much on the pagefile you are going to get slower performance.
