administrater?

Windows vista, home edition. I've spent hours doing tedious audio editing and when I try to save my work I get the message "you do not have permission to save file" please contact your administrater. As mentioned, this is a home edition. We, like most folks, don't have an administrater in our home. What was MS thinking? Is there some way to disable the "administrater" feature, it's a real nuisance.

I always found that funny, as if Microsoft expects everyone to hire an administrator to sit in your house while you surf the internet...

Anywho, where are you saving this file to?

i would think you had a admin account already. if not i would surely create at least two backup accounts with admin rights. there has to be another acc on start up. even a new computer would have the admin account. check yours.
try instead to right click the icon or exe then run as. then re-log in as admin. if you have one account it should be admin rights already. i would have more profiles with admin rights in case it get corrupted (the profile).
