Adobe Audition won't let me record in multi-track mode

I can record my guitar using the microphone jack on my computer while in Edit Mode in Adobe Audition, but when I go to multi-track mode, the "record" buttons are dimmed and won't function. I just switched to Windows Vista. What do I do to be able to record in multi track mode?

Well you need to inputs first of all. I use 'Cool Edit 2.1' which is the same thing as AA but in order to do multi-track recording you have to use an interface with two inputs.
