Adove Photoshop 7 help

I have been using this program for a long time and have never ran into this until today. I selected the paint squares to pick a new color and it gave me the eye dropper tool. After that I could do nothing, all my menus were full of grayed out options, I couldn't select any other tools, I couldn't close photoshop. I actually had to alt + crtl + delete to close it. And doing that it didn't even ask me to save the file that I hadn't saved while working on it.

Later on the same thing happened when I tried blending options for a layer. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, but I still cannot access blending options, this is killing me. Hopefully someone knows whats going on.
 
your computer is really a demon sent from hell you to make your life annoying...

Umm install PS 8 or 9

run all virus/ware cleaners.

the fact that it just started doin that out of the blue might be a virus.
 
when you unistalled it did the uninstaller completely remove all the files? insall CD could be bad :(

replace with GIMP.
 
A long shot but have you checked preferences and made sure enough memory is allocated.
 
Looking at it right now says:

Availible RAM: 1777MB

Maximum Used by Photoshop: 50% = 888MB

Is that enough, I would think so seeing as when PS 7 came out most computers were only 128/256mb.

It's just confusing why this happened, I been using this for years (not this same install) and never seen nothing like it.
