ADSL connection help ?

I don't know if you mean 1 megabit per second isnt so bad....but theres honestly really nothing to be done. Many companies can claim they can help with speed-up programs, download managers, etc.. but they cannot. Theres not much you can do to make anything any faster at all. If we could, why wouldn't we all have dial-up running at 1000mbps? Low cost-fast speed. Not happening.

You can check certain things to ensure theyre functioning properly but they probably are. You could find some tweaks..but they wont help.

One thing you might check is (and I know nothing about ADSL but I'm betting it uses the phone line too...) that you dont have too many phones plugged in, because they use bandwidth, and that they all have filters....

i cant remember what it is called, bu thtere should be a number that determines how many people you are sharing your connection or w/e with, ill reply with more information later on but its a ratio of some sort lik 1:20
if there are lots of people sharing the sam eonncetion then it slows down very badly
it depends whether or not you are in a area with lots of broadband users, if so then that ratio could be filled to its maximum (the number given is a maximum number) for example i live in the middle of nowhere and have a 2.3mbps connection speed, with a ratio of 1:50 or someting
i get immense speeds as noone else uses broadband wher i am....

I dont believe that with DSL/ADSL that is an issue. With a cable connection it makes a difference if a whole bunch of people are using the net but I dont think DSL is the same. With DSL you are connected directly, with cable its sort of like a neighborhood hub.

yes, you are right i was thinking of cable...but its still cool i am the only one in a 4-5mile radius with a hi speed net connection...
