Advanced ways to speed up laptop?

I have an Acer Aspire 5750-6677. Here are the specs:

Intel Sandy Bridge i3 2.1 GHz CPU
Intel HD Graphics 3000, 1760 memory
4GB DDR3 RAM

I am unhappy with the fact that I only have 2.1 GHz because my CPU odel doesn't Turbo Boost. Are there any free, advanced ways to speed me up?

I already do cleanup, defrag, all that stuff. I've already cleaned up the registry. I mean more advanced things, like overclocking, although my PC won't overclock.

What is it exactly, that you're trying to do that needs more speed? That's a decent laptop

Get an SSD for the laptop. It'll make it a lot snappier. And exactly what are you doing with your laptop?

you will still be out performing an equivalent AMD.
Heck a i3-380m, no turbo boost, scores higher benchmark scores than the Phenom II x4 2.0 GHz that is in my HP laptop. Its not just the speed , but also the architecture that determines the speed.

you could also try to put Ubuntu 11.04 on it. I did on my netbook, and it speeds it up, looks nice and also gets me longer battery life. don't know how.
