* Advice For My Future Build * (Gaming = 2000) Please Look!

Hey, I have wandered upon this website, and after looking around a while, I have decided to make a post that is highly important to me! :D

I am building a $2000 (right now at $1800, and would be nice to keep it that way, with only a little wavering in the price) gaming pc, and I am looking for some suggestions and updates to my pc. I would like to know: how to make it better, if everything fits, and if it is just mostly fine and sufficient for an amazing gaming experience. (Capable of mods, shaders, recording gameplay, with little to no lagtime) Y'all seem like nice people so can you maybe help me out.

My Build:

(Note: I also have a razer deathadder 2013 mouse, and a razer deathstalker ultimate 2013 keyboard, so that is not needed, but, I am thinking about what type of monitor would be sufficient, or if I should get dual SSDs)

Please help, I hope you can help make my computer epic! Also,if your feeling fancy, what's a good name! :D :P Anyway, thanks for the help.

If your thinking about getting a new monitor anything 1080p at around 23 inches from Asus, Dell, Samsung, or BenQ should suffice. IMO 1440p and 4K cost way too much at the moment.

And you should check out the Define R4 Blackout. I have both reg and blackout, but the tinted window on the blackout looks pretty nice.

Ok, so thanks speedx77x, I have decided on getting a Define R4 Blackout, for the mere 10$ extra. Thank you! And Cisco001, though the G-Skill ram is cheaper, does it perform any better task, because they are both DDR3-2133, or do they function exactly the same? And with the xfx, do the lower price and same wattage still make it function well? I am going to start out small, with one monitor, and then, because I need it, upgrade to 2, then 3. So, since I am thinking same monitors all around, which is a good monitor to work with. I am looking for a nice 27 inch monitor, not 4k or 1440p, but 1080p. And does this all fit, and function properly together. I have just upgraded my motherboard a while ago, because you need a Z97 motherboard. I went from the asus Z87-pro, to the asus Z97-pro. So, any suggestions for the motherboard. I will change it more for every reply I read! Thanks a ton! You are really helping me out.

Thanks! :D

For a monitor this should be pretty good for a 27 inch: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-ve278q

As for the motherboard I just got the same one but the WiFi version and it works pretty good. The only problem I've had so far is 00 on the q-code indicator which usually means something is wrong with the CPU, to fix it all I did was tighten the CPU power plug because it was loose.

Update

Thank you for your great suggestions! I love the feedback, and now I have some statements and questions.

I have switched from the seasonic x 850w brand power supply to the xfx proseries 850w brand power supply, because of the price drop and rebranded parts in the seasonic x 850w.

I am about to purchase the asus ve278q 27 inch monitor. But, I am willing to change my mind. If there is an effective 27 inch monitor with a decent price, please notify me with a reply, but please only if it is better.

For my build, I originally decided upon an asus Z97-PRO because it was capable to support my processor (Intel Core i7 4790k Quad Core) one-hundred percent. But, since then, I have been notified of something dealing with my motherboard. I will have to have an ethernet cable running to my computer if I would go along with that motherboard, so I decided to go with this motherboard, which I am pretty sure is exactly the same except with wireless wifi. Here it is: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z97prowifiac Also, to clear things up, will this version of this motherboard will allow we to run wireless wifi? Because I am not familiar with this type of motherboard and am assuming that this is the effect.

Will my computer fit and run nicely (even though I am 95% sure it will) when I am building it. I am not saying this as though I am unfamiliar with my computer, I am saying this because I would like to know what parts to maybe adjust, and will this be ok for overclocking, and to what extent?

Should I go for a better SSD, or should I just add another one on later in RAID 0?

If I were to go recording, should I allot a separate hard drive for it, or will I be fine.

For cooling, should I be fine with air cooling (Noctua NH-U14S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler), or should I move to watercooling, which might be kind of (for lack of a better word) annoying

Lastly, what could make this PC Build better, I really need more suggestions to greatly improve the build! I put it together myself, and love the feedback I have received so far, so keep it going. You guys are great at helping me out! Thank you! :D

Sorry for the late reply :(

The monitor and PSU are fine.

For the motherboard if you'll be using Wifi then get that version which will allow you to connect to the internet wirelessly. I have the same exact motherboard and wireless is perfect, just connect the adapter to the back panel of the motherboard and you should be good to go.

Yes, all the parts will fit.

Get this SSD: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-internal-hard-drive-mz7te250bw

For recording use your HDD.

The NH-U14S is good but this is better: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhd14 and there's also the NH-D15 which is a newer model of the D14. I have a D15 and its great.

For Air CPU cooler I would recommend getting low profile RAM, so something like this should be good: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cml16gx3m2a1866c10

And finally there are ways to improve upon your PC, it just depends how much money your willing to spend.

RAM Questioning and Overclocking.

I've made some suggested changes to my build, like upgrading my CPU Cooler, and switching to the Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, like a lot of you guys have been requesting. And I have been wondering, since you have requested low-profile RAM, because of air cooling, will my pc not be able to handle the 2133 RAM? Will, because of cas latency, my pc run actually slower? Lastly, do you think I will be able to overclock this build, and to what extent, thank you for the quick responses and all, I really appreciate it! :D

I know, I have decided on getting the Fractal Design Define R4 Blackout, and I know you copied Speed's post! :P

Ddr3 1866 vs. 2133

I am not suggesting that I want ddr3-2133 RAM, I am only saying, that if I do get 2133, will it run slower on my build (CAS Latency) compared to 1866. And whichever one I get, which product of that type should I get? Thanks! :D

I reckon the 2133 would still be a bit quicker than the 1866 even if the CAS latency is a tad lower. Don't get too hung up on all of this stuff though because for most things you use a computer for, you won't notice at the end of the day anyway.

Bottom line is that if 2133 is just a little more than 1866 I'd go for it - otherwise stick with 1866 (especially since 1866 is now usually only a tiny bit more expensive than 1600, or even the same cost).

I would suggest going with an HDD from Western Digital instead of the Toshiba. Get either Blue or Black.
And the Samsung 840 EVO over SanDisk SSD

Otherwise it looks good. The EVGA cooler on your GPU is good, but I would probably go with ASUS instead.
Asus GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5
Same price
