Advice needed for upgrading my setup for gaming

Hello,
For the past year and a half to two years, I been using my computer for multiple uses such as Photoshop editing (and other adobe programs), gaming and web-surfing. Recently within the last few months I have felt the power of new fast, intense graphics games such as crysis 2 really hit my setup hard and I feel a bit behind the time now with my setup. On a budget, I would now like to begin upgrading my system to bring it back into the race with the everlasting line of games churning out of the industry. I would like advice from anybody who feels they could help on what I should primarily upgrade and what you think I should upgrade it with for gaming.

I have an Advent CPD1301 and i have loads of room and spare slots for larger upgrades.

Here is the specification:
  • AMD Phenom II X2 545 Processor 3.00 GHz
  • 4.00 GB of DDR2 RAM
  • ATI Radeon HD 4650 (1024 MB DDR2)
  • Foxconn A7VMX-K (Motherboard)
  • Realtek ALC662 High Definition (Sound card)
  • Also i run a 21.5 inch screen on 1920 x 1080 pixels

Post a reply with any ideas or contact me on [email protected]
Thank you.

Well the number one thing you probably need to upgrade is your graphics card. Depending on how good you want it to be, I recommend any of these(mind you these are just the type/speed, I'm not necessarily saying that this brand is the best):

6870 1GB
6950 1GB
6950 2GB

In upgrading your GPU(graphics card) you will probably have to upgrade your PSU(power supply) and your MOBO(motherboard).

my advice 4 gaming rig

It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend. I agree with stretch you may need to also buy a new motherboard and PSU.
Why not try these links. The graphics are not the best they are not new, but they are still good enough to handle the new games that are out right now like Call of Duty or crisis 2 in very high quality.

Do a little research and you will be able to find good parts that are not that expensive.

With that motherboard, i believe he would have to buy ddr3 ram to work with it. as to andrew01, start your own forum post.
