advice on computer

im going to help out a friends buy a computer and hes getting it from eg currys pc world etc etc were shopping about basically i want to know what are good makes i know toshiba hp are good any other makes that are good

EDIT: and also i think all hes going to be using pc for is internet and office apps just small tasks, so i persume go for a cheap intel core 2duo and 1-2gb of ram

I would go for a system that uses an AMD dual-core processor as they are less expensive than Intel processors generally.

Is he getting Windows Vista? Make sure he has at least 1 gigabyte of RAM if that is the operating system he is choosing.
