Advice on which processor...

OK, so i now have most of what I need for my build...

The main choice I'm left with is the processor.

I reckon I have roughly £180 for the processor and motherboard...

Advice please?

All the basic usual stuff like music videos internet etc, and I'm looking to start gaming, hence the build...

No preference, just want something quick that doesn't cost the earth.

Although the motherboard should preferably have space for lots of RAM, and accept DDR3 at high speeds... i.e. 1333, 1600 or 2133...

thanks :)

The processor Salvage-This recommended is very good. If you want to do video games the Phenom II 955 Processor is a great choice.

How soon do you need the mobo? I would buy the i7 and wait for the mobo... But like i said, it all depends on the situation.

Cheers all ^^

noob question, the 2 motherboards recommended:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._re=ASUS_M4A79T_Deluxe-_-13-131-363-_-Product

and

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402

Whats the difference between them that warrants the $60 price difference?

Also, I need a case and a PSU...
PSU to power either 8 or 16GB of RAM, and the Phenom II x4 that you guys recommended, plus a low end graphics card, which I'm likely to upgrade before I upgrade anything else...
And the case to fit those mobos, look OK and have decent airflow...

Want to spend about £60 on the two (fingers crossed)...

This means a budget of £240 for the motherboard, processor, PSU and case...

Cheers Guys...

EDIT: Just realised this question is in the completely wrong section :/ but I would still appreciate help? because my thread in the other section has gone dead :/

^^ The only difference is the more expensive one has 3 PCI-E slots and the other one has 2. In my opinion the cheaper one would be the best bang for your buck.

£240 for that would be a stretch put simply.

over half your budget gone from the CPU.

I'd recomend:

for a motherboard. Everything you want, made well, great support, great performance, real easy to use, great layout.
