I only have a yr expiernce in networking and from the job discription, I don't know everything they are asking. When I worked as a network admin these were the duties I worked on.Gpo, active directory, configured port switches, routers, remoting, file sharing, printing issues, vpn.
This is the new job description :Specific Skills: Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment, Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software, Provide problem-solving services to network users, Implement data, software and hardware security procedures, Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records, Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations, Set up local area networks and connections to the internet, Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance, Modify web pages, applets and scripts , PDA, Mail server software, Database software
There is a few things I never did like optimize server performance, disaster recovery, implement network traffic and security monitoring, applets and scripts, PDA, Database software.
My question is:
Can someone tell me am I over thinking things. I need some advice on the things i don't know. I could use a friend that I could contact and ask questions to. If you are working as a network admin, is there anything that you think I should be preparing for.
I know there is alot here and I appreciate you reading this. I'm just nervous and trying to cover everything I think I should know.
