Advice?

The comp I want to build is going to be used for some HARDCORE GAMING.
But I dont know what kind of motherboard I should purchase.

What I do know is that I want its CPU to be AMD Athlon 64 3700+.
But I'm dumb and dont know anything about Motherboards.
Such as Chipsets, and overclocking.

The RAM is going to be 2 * 1GB Kingstons, and the PSU is 500W.
If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
 
have you looked in Cpmuter Specs 101? just take the mobo thats listed there. i think its the Asus MVRP or sumthing like that. and its about $100. its a very good board and great for its price.
 
if you're overclocking, then just get the cheapest cpu... like the athlon 64 3000+ or the X2 3800+
i bet those could hit 2.4ghz easily.
asus and abit are good brands of motherboards. my ecs treats me well though. lol
