Hmm Ad-Aware didn't get rid of everything,

We still have My Web Search as an 03, 04 and a 016.
I have to go to bed right now, got school tomorrow ;) I'll look at it more closely tomorrow :D
 
Hmm I found a fix, let's see if it will get rid of the MyWebSearch.

1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel

2) Double click on Add/Remove Programs

3) Find "My Web Search" in the list of installed programs and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it. You may also want to uninstall any of the following items associated with FunWebProducts.

* My Web Search (Smiley Central or FWP product as applicable)
* My Way Speedbar (Smiley Central or other FWP as applicable)
* My Way Speedbar (AOL and Yahoo Messengers) (beta users only)
* My Way Speedbar (Outlook, Outlook Express, and IncrediMail)
* Search Assistant - My Way

4) Reboot your Computer and run HijackThis
5) Post a fresh HJT here :D
 
Eh smart :P But I only found MyWebSearch ( Smileys Central ) and I couldn't unninstall it, because it's already unninstalled or sth: 'The specified module could not be found'

Ok that's because ComboFix got rid of it earlier.

So now we need to get rid of those lines:

Run Hijackthis, click on Do a Scan.
Once it is done put a checkmark next to:

  • O3 - Toolbar: My Web Search - {07B18EA9-A523-4961-B6BB-170DE4475CCA} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\1.bin\MWSBAR.DLL (file missing)

Click on Fix, and post a fresh HJT after it has been fixed.
 
Ok, thank you. That got rid of it all, but still I'm being annoyed with that MyWebShit on control panel...nevermind I guess... thank you :D
 
Hmm yeah I'm trying to figure out a way to remove it.

Let's try a registry cleaner.

Download CCleaner
  • Install it, then run it
  • On the left menu, click on Registry
  • On the bottom, click on Scan for issues
  • Once it has scanned click on Fix Selected issues then Fix all issues, you can save a backup before cleaning if you wish.

Please post a fresh HJT to see if it got rid of everything and check in your control panel to see if it's still there.
