I have a medion cybercom laptop, just formatted an gone back to XP home. Strangely the sound doesnt work (limited to just the beep, lol)
How do I get the sound to work, are there some settings in xp that I can use to 'find' the sound settings or apply them to the internal speakers (like I managed to change the port settings so that the printer would work through the usb) or are there :-

1, standard universal drivers that might sort the sound

2, particular drivers required for just this machine that I need

ANY help would be great, please help if you have information on what could get me some sound.... it's really annoying !!

Paul.

You need to download the drivers from your manufactuers website or if you have a driver cd. What model is it and i can try to find the drivers for you.

Go to the manufacturers website, and look to see what type of Audio Driver is required for your laptop. they will probably have it there for download for you!

It just sounds like you need the driver.

Thanks for your offer to help, if I knew where I could get the correct driver from I could certainly try that. It's a Medion Cybercom MD 5959

Thanks

Paul.

A big thanks to 'Bomberboysk' for sending a spot-on link to the correct sound driver for my laptop.... I've got sound and it's great !! - cheers

Since you mangaged to find that driver so easy, can I quickly ask something else, the screen has a kind of 'flicker' when you move the screen to scroll down, it kind of refreshes from the bottom up you can actually see a line keep running from the bottom of the screen to the top as the new information is placed
again (and sorry to ask) is there a driver for the video on these laptops, or is this aspect a setting of Windows (now confimred that it's actually XP Pro)

Thankyou VERY much for the help and the supply of the link.

CHEERS !!

Its "Flickering" because your probably using straight vesa drivers at the 30hz refresh rate, installing the driver should set your refresh rate to 60 hz or whatever max is on your panel.

Also incase you need it is the links for hotkey software and infrared drivers.
