After Assembly?

So when you build a computer, once everything is assembled, then what do you do? I assumed the computer would boot up and you would install the OS. I noticed motherboards come with software; when does that get installed?

The motherboard's software is already installed on the motherboard before you buy it. You'll install your OS and then probably some drivers.

Drivers and such are installed when you install the OS, windows update generally takes care of drivers, however it is generally recommended to download the latest drivers from the manufacturer website.
